THE SONO GROUP'S SURGEWORKS™ DIVISION RELEASES TRANSPAPER™ 2.0,

A WEB BASED BUSINESS APPLICATION BUILDER

DANVILLE, California, March 1, 2002,  - The SurgeWorks division of The Sono Group, Inc. has released version 2.0 of TransPaper™, a family of web-based workflow automation products for business. TransPaper 2.0 includes two new powerful tools to complete this suite, allowing users to create an all-electronic Transaction Management System. TransPaper tool XFM™ allows the creation of forms for entering multi-resource involved activities such as service requests, work orders, and product fulfillment orders. XFM offers several revolutionary features including: time sensitive forms whose layout changes shape and available dropdown options change based on the calendar, without requiring additional programming. A supervisory view of all transactions is available for escalation, assignment, or approval, and chain-of-custody tracking insure requests are completed. The second major tool in this release is WFM™, this component permits creation of tabular views of data straight from a database. Columns are automatically sized and may be sorted and filtered. Data entry choices like drop down boxes, radio buttons, or pick lists are all selectable configuration choices within WFM.

With TransPaper, clients no longer have lost emails or important orders “falling through the cracks”. The Sono Group will customize TransPaper to suit, starting with workflow consulting. Clients who wish to design their own forms, can use TransFormIT™ an easy to use form builder. In release 2.0, TransFormIT™ now supports creating password-protected sections, rather than require locking an entire form. This permits select portions of the form to be completed, checked, or approved by different people throughout the organization.

These web-based, business workflow automation products are enjoying rapid acceptance in small to large businesses alike. Smaller businesses are moving to replace traditional paper based systems while larger businesses have rapidly outgrown in-house designs based on Word templates and email based workflow systems. Even the largest businesses who have deployed enterprise wide systems such as SAP, PeopleSoft, or BAAN have found SurgeWorks to be a better alternative to the high cost of custom development from ERP consultants.

Recently, a regional data services company sought to unify the user interface and back-end systems of several legacy order processing systems. These systems were mission critical, and used simultaneously by over 3000 people located all around the country. A number of home-grown workarounds were in place, including spreadsheets and word templates, which were painstakingly maintained, well, sort of…

The Sono Group, Inc. was commissioned and deployed its team of IT professionals, including certified Microsoft, Oracle, and Java developers. By using TransPaper, in less than two weeks a working prototype helped unify the disparate visions of how the final system should work. From there, Sono helped define the requirements, designed the background infrastructure, and developed a working system. The robust product structure now supports monthly enhancements, liberating the order service force to enjoy unprecedented productivity levels.

Founded in 1992, The Sono Group, Inc. created the SurgeWorks division to address a need for unique development tools needed to permit rapid development of the forms and worksheets used in web based workflow business applications. Sono has distilled over 3,500 hours of design and development into this innovative products business. The motto of Surgeworks division is "Work doesn't flow, it surges!"
